Providing Help for Elbow and Wrist Conditions

woman sitting down, holding her elbow in painMention chiropractic and most people automatically think of a way to address back and neck pain. Sure, it does a fantastic job of doing just that. But many people don’t know that chiropractors also treat extremities, including shoulders, elbows, hips, legs, ankles and feet.

We want to make sure all the joints in your body are moving effectively. Your chiropractor can run you through an exam so you can tell if the issue is coming from the spine or if it’s an upper back-related injury that’s postural driven. Or is it a neck-related injury that’s also postural driven?

The issue could be nerve-related or originating from the elbow or wrist itself. Inside of that, is it coming from the joints or the muscles? Or a combination? There are lots of questions that need to be answered. That’s why seeing a chiropractor is vital. Dr. Storm can give you the right type of treatment plan to get you back to where you need to go.

At-Home Exercises

In his recent video, Dr. Storm shows some simple exercises you can do to focus on the mobility in your elbow. These include wrist extension and wrist flexion exercises. We see lots of injuries of the triceps so he also demonstrates that exercise. Dr. Storm also shows how to perform an exercise to improve dynamic motion through the wrist.

It’s important to discuss with your healthcare professional before starting these exercises. If you experience any sharpness or referral pain you need to stop those exercises and let your healthcare professional know about it.
